The Mexico-Dominican duo of Laura Amelia Guzmán (Dominican Republic, 1980) and Israel Cárdenas (Mexico, 1980) has directed, written, produced, and photographed several feature films to date. Among them figure COCHOCHI (2007) and JEAN GENTIL (2010), both celebrating their world premieres in the Exhibition of Cinematographic Art of the Venice Biennale; and their documentary CARMITA (2013), having its own at FICUNAM. Their most recent film, SAND DOLLARS (2014), starring Geraldine Chaplin, has been internationally renowned, as well as been distributed in French, German, Brazilian, Mexican, Argentinian, and U.S. cinemas. Presently, they work on feature film SAMBÁ (in post-production) and docu-fiction NOELI OVERSEAS, as well as the development of their next feature REINADO DE BELLEZA / BEAUTY KINGDOM, to be filmed in the Dominican Republic in 2017. As of June 2016, they both figure among the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

François Garcia Fiore obtained his degree at the prestigious National Institute of Audio-visual in Paris. In 2008, he creates Monst3rlab, a collective of artists with two of his friends. Together they've travelled for so many countries around the world and shooted video clips for French and international artists. He signs his first script «Girasol» in 2013. The movie wins the TIFA in 2017. In the wake of this movie, François keeps writing the first African tv show shot on three different continents: «Reve sans faim». He wins a selection EAVE with his second scenario «Beau père du bled» Then he creates a new African tv show: «Soeurs ennemies» which is nominated at the FESPACO 2016 and at the Festival of Fiction in La Rochelle 2017. On the crest of his popularity, season two is a work in progress. He currently works on «Patria», the first Dominican show about Narcotrafic and corruption in Dominican Republic.
