Video I wrote, produced and directed with the award-winning animator/creative director, Lucas Zanotto. Video I wrote, produced and directed with the award-winning animation house, Moth Studios. 3 year long documentary project which I produced, wrote and co-directed about teachers in America. The project won a regional Emmy for best doc and had extended theatrical runs in LA, NY, Phoenix, and Denver through AMC Independent. Edited, helped translate, I also created shows intro and media. Report on the border wall and the impact on native nations and ecosystems. part of a series, I wrote, shot and edited. Video Editor and Producer. Occasional camera. Jacqui Danilow, a native New Yorker, began performing at The Metropolitan Opera in 1979. While a member of the Met’s bass section, she played in more than 40 complete ring cycles, and performed in the Deutsche Grammophon recording of Wagner's ring cycle with Maestro Levine at the Manhattan Center Studios. In 199 I directed and edited this music video “Special Dark” for Marilyn Carino. The debut solo album by Marilyn Carino, formerly of Mudville, is a startling meld of sonic and lyric contasts. These nine songs, with their downbeat tempos, shimmering, layered, sometimes angular textures, and crisscrossing rhythmic and drenched-in-soul melodic architectures, swallow the listener whole -- albeit lovingly. Carino's luxuriant, evocative alto explores her range and completely inhabits her material -- she wrote all but one track on the set: she performed and produced it too, employing loops and electronics (some of them primitive) in creating an immediate space for raw expression. Carino's songs are centered around the struggle for radical self-acceptance and its result: independence from neuroses, both our own and those who would seek to imprison us with their own. The jazzy, drifty, "Special Dark" reveals Nina Simone's influence. With cracked guitars, crunchy loops, and suffocatingly close inner spaces, Carino's protagonist finds the thinnest membrane inside the cocoon and breaks it open by confessing vulnerability and in turn liberating her protagonist: "..Turn to honey my will of steel.. my secret's out." Advertisement for Beer Week in Flagstaff. Made for the local tourism board. I shot this film about a friend's new restaurant as a way to test my new camera. I quite like the outcome.

About David W.
I believe in the power of visually expressing the human experience and the raw beauty of nature. Before founding David Wallace Visuals, I worked for 20 years as a staff photographer and video producer at newspapers throughout the country. 15 of those years were at the Arizona Republic where I documented issues ranging from the U.S./ Mexico border to the environment. I covered Pope Francis’ inaugural visit to Mexico, disappearing glaciers in Peru, uranium contamination on the Navajo Nation, two Super Bowls, and directed a feature length documentary on child welfare issues. In 2018, I was one of the primary members of the Arizona Republic reporting team that won a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for their coverage of the U.S./ Mexico border. Of the 10 pieces of content submitted for the Pulitzer, three of the entries were videos I filmed and edited. I am an eight time Rocky Mountain Emmy winner and have won numerous other awards in photo and video journalism. I received a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology. An avid outdoorsmen, my interests include hiking, canyoneering, trail running, rafting and rock climbing. In 2001, I thru-hiked the entirety of the 2,650-mile long Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. I live in Phoenix with my wife, Laura Segall, also a professional photographer and our three children. I approach every project with heart and compassion, producing content to communicate captivating stories of the people, places, organizations and businesses of Arizona and beyond. What is your story to tell?
