Once hailed as an "Aladdin-like town of the times," today Monessen, Pennsylvania is a microcosm of the rustbelt struggle. Despite heavy population loss, and a historic downtown in decay, a young mayor is determined to turn things around in this city on a hill in the Monongahela Valley. Produced for Proud Places (www.proudplaces.com) When the pandemic locked people inside, Buffalo Games saw an unprecedented spike in demand for its puzzles. But just as demand was taking off, the company's Buffalo, NY factory was shut down under New York State COVID-19 mandate. As the largest manufacturer of puzzles in North America, the company had to get creative. First, Buffalo Games sourced from overseas and then ramped up manufacturing stateside when the factory was able to reopen in May. Since May, the company has doubled production, now making 2 million puzzles a month. Business Insider visits the factory to see how Buffalo Games did it. Small Town Spirit is an episodic series for Proud Places, profiling inspirational stories from small town America. Another video which is part of the campaign with Pearl Jam and Starbucks to bring attention to the homeless epidemic in Seattle Had a chance to direct this piece about what the future 5G Network will be able to do in the future. It was fun to exercise the mind and visualize what the future may bring to our lives via 5G. Got to work with Pearl Jam and Starbucks to make 4 videos for their "home shows" campaign in which they are bringing attention to the homeless epidemic that is spreading around Seattle. A brief history of Silva Seed and why they merged with Drone Seed. Used as a news package. Reena Ravi, an up and coming interior designer in the Seattle area hired me to create a slick and concise about video for her design business. Videos like this are some of our top requested projects. Understandably because these videos work very well at instantly familiarizing viewers with a brand from the minute they click play or land on the your website. This project was a full scale corporate case study with two internationally renown organizations: Compac Tomra (fruit processing, AI, machinery) and Stemilt Growers (and distribution). Filmed on location in Wenatchee Washington. I produced this piece about the design and construction of an innovative affordable housing project in Seattle.

About David L.
A native of Mexico City, I am a seasoned story teller with over 18 years experience working on major brands, both in Latin America and in the United States. Growing up in a city of over 24 million people has taught me many things, including how to get along with other people. Maybe that’s why I love the collaborative nature of my work. When the creative juices are flowing between like minded people is when the work is at its best, and I prefer to be right there in the middle of it. I have little use for the vacuums formed by creative despotism. I love film, photography, art, food, beer and of course music. In fact, music is probably the most influential thing in my life. Just like a good edit is made great by the right music and the right beat my life is constantly being improved with the addition of just the right soundtrack. I love the outdoors, especially any activity that keeps me in tune with the rhythms of nature. Snowboarding and surfing top my list, but I’m usually up for anything and to keep the muscles and joints ready to go I hit the yoga studio while enjoying city life. I try and live my life like taking on a double-black diamond run in knee-deep powder; laidback and fun, but intense and focused all at the same time. I prefer hugs to handshakes and I never leave home without some good music and an open mind.

About Spencer M.
Spencer Millsap is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Washington state. His primary focus is on documentaries, be it environmental, cultural, or adventure travel. Millsap’s focus and expertise for years in run-and-gun style productions as producer/shooter/editor allows for flexibility, experimentation, and follow through from pitch to delivery. Millsap’s education and experiences have taken him into the jungles of Sumatra in search of Orangutans to hunting for the earliest signs of life in Iceland’s frigid underwater fissures. Integrating experiential style storytelling and tone over traditional methods of “talking head” interviews, Millsap’s passion is to transport the viewer to distant locales through textures, details, pacing, and storytelling. Spencer’s visual background stems from being a participant in the XXII Eddie Adams Workshop, photo intern for World Picture Network & the Obama Administration’s White House Photo Office, staff photographer for the Texas House of Representatives, and one of the first multimedia producers at National Geographic Magazine in Washington, D.C. Spencer’s work has been honored by The Webby’s Individual documentary episode category three years in a row, National Magazine Awards, and most recently as “Multimedia Producer of the Year” by the White House News Photographer’s Association.
