Rudy Washington is an 11-year-old boy from Detroit, who goes out in the cold to pass out socks to homeless people on 8-mile road in Detroit- where many homeless people live. Rudy started his sock drive campaign a year ago. He collects boxes of socks and when he has enough, he goes out with his mom and dad to pass them out to homeless people University of Michigan freshman Wafa Berry discusses how she feels about the rhetoric and bias against Muslims following the campaign and election of Donald Trump. I created this award winning piece from start to finish in Nicaragua to tell the story of poverty faced by their people. For this project, I traveled to Ethiopia, Africa to capture whats happening with One Child Matters organization efforts. A recruiting piece I shot, produced and edited for Bates Architects These Good Neighbors do more than bring you a cup of sugar and check your mail while you're on vacation; they repair homes and restore hope for families in need.

Felipe has taught his “Creative Production Philosophy & Style” to producers, reporters and colleagues from CNNE, CNNI and HLN; and he also teaches it to children and young storytellers in an international school in Atlanta, which led him to be recognized with Time Warner’s Richard D. Parsons Community Impact Award in 2014. In 2010 Felipe produced, directed, filmed (second camera) and wrote the acclaimed Alzheimer’s documentary “Filling the Blank” for CNN International’s World Untold Stories show. He also did a version in Spanish for CNN en Español. Both premiered in 2011. In 2011 Felipe also produced, directed and wrote the special documentary film “Crescendo – la música es vida” (Crescedo - why music is life), the first time CNNE blended fiction with reality in a documentary/film style. The film was released in 500 movie theatres in the US before being broadcasted on CNN. Between 2003 and 2012 Felipe produced and hosted the live weekly segment Juego de Palabras in the show Encuentro on CNN en Español.
