    About Cady V.

I have experience producing documentary films, writing feature articles, and packaging radio & TV pieces. I'm an American based in Bogotá, Colombia, with experience working in English, Spanish and French. In 2015, following dreams of being a full-time storyteller, I moved to India to co-direct a documentary about an orphanage outside the city of Hyderabad. Most recently, I served as the managing editor at Innovations | Stories, an online publication sharing the stories of social innovators all over the Global South. While at Innovations | Stories I designed and spearheaded a multimedia editorial strategy which allowed for more diverse content (a heavier focus on photo and video stories). As managing editor I supported video and photo freelance contributors from all over the world and designed storytelling trainings for social innovators to tell their own stories. I'm originally from Berkeley, California, USA and I earned my B.S. from the University of California, Davis in Community and Regional Development with a minor in Art Studio (focusing on video and photography). From 2010-2015 I directed a global education program called One World Youth Project (OWYP), based in Washington, DC. At OWYP I designed middle school (age 10-14) curriculum and trained university students to teach it around the world in their own communities. The program taught the children cross-cultural communication by empowering them to create and send video, photo, and written messages to their partner classroom abroad - all facilitated by trained university student volunteers. While serving as program director at OWYP I had the privilege of traveling around the world visiting schools and delivering trainings at universities. My work in education and the opportunity to see so much of the world made me realize I wanted to tell stories. Storytelling is the best form of education anyway.

    About Dima K.

There are only two major documentary shows produced in Ukraine that I haven't been part of. Netflix's 'Winter on fire' and BBC's Ukrainian episode of the 'Top gear'. The first one didn't need me being based at the real-time footage filmed by more than 100 video streamers of the Maidan Revolution in 2014. The second one turned out to be dull. 'The Russian Woodpecker' about Chernobyl zone which was also advertised as something big coming from Ukraine is more of a sensationalist trick rather than a documentary. Each and every big Western documentary production company working in Ukraine has hired me to do the job. Major works are listed on my IMDB profile and at my agency's website. IMDB profile: imdb.com/name/nm3002393 Website: fixerukraine.com I've worked as a local producer/ fixer for the majority of the Vice's shows in Ukraine including 'Cold War 2.0', 'Black Market', 'Cyberwar', 'Gaycation' and 'World in Disarray', BBC's 'The Great Continental Railway Show with Michael Portillo' and 'Inside Chernobyl's Megatomb', Chernobyl's episode of the 'Abandoned Engineering' fro Discovery, History's 'Cities of Underworld' and many more. Here is short CV: 2014 - 2018 - full-time freelance local producer/ fixer (NBC, NatGeo, Vice, BBC, AJ, Discovery, RTL4, BNN Vara etc.) 2014 - 2016 - producer (Vocativ) 2004 - 2014 - part-time fixer for Western media/ television director & presenter for local media (1+1, STB, New Channel) 2002 - 2004 - E.Muskie program fellow (Ohio University Graduate Media Arts program) 1998 - 2004 - journalist for the major Ukrainian television companies (1+1, First National Channel, Inter)

    About David L.

A native of Mexico City, I am a seasoned story teller with over 18 years experience working on major brands, both in Latin America and in the United States. Growing up in a city of over 24 million people has taught me many things, including how to get along with other people. Maybe that’s why I love the collaborative nature of my work. When the creative juices are flowing between like minded people is when the work is at its best, and I prefer to be right there in the middle of it. I have little use for the vacuums formed by creative despotism. I love film, photography, art, food, beer and of course music. In fact, music is probably the most influential thing in my life. Just like a good edit is made great by the right music and the right beat my life is constantly being improved with the addition of just the right soundtrack. I love the outdoors, especially any activity that keeps me in tune with the rhythms of nature. Snowboarding and surfing top my list, but I’m usually up for anything and to keep the muscles and joints ready to go I hit the yoga studio while enjoying city life. I try and live my life like taking on a double-black diamond run in knee-deep powder; laidback and fun, but intense and focused all at the same time. I prefer hugs to handshakes and I never leave home without some good music and an open mind.

His stories have appeared nationally on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Marketplace, Here and Now, The Splendid Table, The Environment Report, and World Vision Report. He won First Place for “Soft Feature, Division A” in June 2018 from PRNDI. He was selected as a 2016 New Voice Scholar from the Association for Independents in Radio and has won a Clarion Award in 2016 for his work on a radio documentary about life for military veterans in Michigan. His previous awards include First Place for enterprise/investigative reporting from PRNDI and a "best of" award for individual reporting from the Michigan Associated Press. Norris also teaches classes and workshops about audio production, storytelling, podcasting, and working with the media. His clients include The City of Seattle, Seattle Public Library, Jack Straw Cultural Center, The Seattle World School, and Southwest Youth & Family Services. He currently works as a youth mentor and instructor for KUOW’s RadioActive program and as a producer with their podcast department. He’s created an independent podcast with reporter Anna Boiko-Weyrauch called “Finding Fixes” that looks at solutions to the opioid epidemic in Snohomish County. The series was released in September 2018 and is supported with help from Solutions Journalism and InvestigateWest. Former NPR Senior Editor Sara Sarasohn describes Norris this way: “Kyle Norris is the real deal. I've heard a lot of voices in my 25 years in public radio. None is warmer, more expressive or more natural than Kyle's. He has this innate intimacy that invites the listener into a story in a totally welcoming way. That carries over into his interviewing. Kyle has such an ability to get the perfect quote that goes beyond the superficial. From government officials to kids in an art class, Kyle connects with the people he talks to, and that's a gateway for the audience to connect as well.”

    About Mary E.

I'm a reporter, writer, and editor specializing in healthcare and science. My passion is capturing the voices of researchers, patients and caregivers. I tell stories that show why the wonky stuff matters. As a former reporter and editorial writer at the Los Angeles Times, I wrote about malaria in East Africa and the twin epidemics of obesity and diabetes in East LA. My editorials were part of a 2005 Pulitzer Prize-winning series on mismanagement, malpractice and racial injustice at a public hospital. I was a Knight-Science Journalism Fellow at MIT and studied climate change as a journalism fellow at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass., and at Toolik Lake Field Station in Alaska's Brooks Range. As a travel writer, I've published stories on camper vans in New Zealand, beer in Portland and wildflowers in the California desert. I also research and write discussion guides for a nonprofit, nonpartisan research group on topics such as Internet privacy and freedom, the U.S. role in the world and immigration reform.
