Born and raised in Taipei City, William Chen holds BA in Radio and Television, minored in Ethnology, and MA in Religious Study from National Cheng-Chi University. At that time he became one of the first group of students using DV and NLE to make their own short films other than filming for school assignment. In 2007 his animated short “Cultural Reproduction Machine” was screened in Urban Nomad Film Festival. In 2010 he co-directed feature documentary “Dreams, a journey toward Wan Wan” with award-winning director Jim Wang with a theatrical release. I-Hwa Cheng is a Taiwanese photojournalist based in Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012 before beginning her photojournalism career. She started out as a staff photographer for the national newspaper the United Daily News in Taiwan for 5 years before venturing into freelancing. Currently she’s been working mostly for Bloomberg, Reuters and Agence France-Presse as a multimedia journalist producing both photos and videos. Born in 1988 in Algeria, Walid BERRAZEG is a documentary photographer and freelance photojournalist. After a bachelor’s degree in management at the University of Tlemcen (Algeria), he moved to Paris to pursue a Master in Digital Marketing and Cybersecurity at the University of Créteil which he obtained in 2014. While working in the IT sector, Walid launched into street photography, which led to covering the Parisian protests of recent years. Today, he focuses his work on the East Asia region with the main subject of social and political movements in Hong Kong and Taiwan. There are also two long-term projects underway: a first around the “Revolution of the Smile” in Algeria, as well as a second in the form of a documentary entitled “Suburbia”, dealing with the sensitive suburbs of the United States where it highlights the “re-appropriation” of the street by the locals.

Olivier Marceny studied photography in Paris before moving to New York to study filmmaking.  After graduating, he started his career as a camera assistant to Albert Maysles of documentary duo, the Maysles Brothers. Shortly after, Marceny started directing music videos and photographing music bands for record labels and magazines. In 2003 he moved to Berlin after receiving the Nipkow Grant for fiction film writing. Upon returning to France in 2005, Marceny worked as a director of TV commercials and corporate films while indulging his passion for cinema and photography, taking assignments from international film festivals to shoot photo portraits of filmmakers and actors. Over the past decade Marceny has also been involved as a DoP in documentaries and short films such as Brooklyn02 and Valentine (both selected at Locarno and Venice Film Festivals).
