During the 75th anniversary of the trail, I wanted to learn why thousands of people hike part, or all, of the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail. So I hit the A.T. with a backpack, tent, and video equipment for a solo hike. Residents in the village of Desab, Haiti began working co-operatively with The Haiti Plunge, a U.S. based volunteer organization, nearly 30 years ago. Now, its first generation of educated students is transitioning into leadership roles in Haiti. But has it made a difference? Joseph Hudson started work at the age of 12 in the engineering workshops of Birmingham. He trained for 7 years as a toolmaker learning to do by hand the many tasks so often undertaken by a machine today. In these early times he learned the skills that made him a superb craftsman in metal, later forming J Hudson & Co Whistles Ltd., which would become ACME Whistles. Chris Conley’s favorite trail near his home in Owensboro, Kentucky, starts in a parking lot. When he pulls up, he tucks four green toy soldiers into his pockets and carries them until he reaches almost exactly 4 miles. There, he finds a tree split at the base, surrounded by Honor and Remember flags and already filled with dozens of plastic troops. He takes the four he has carried and places them among the others within the makeshift Fallen Heroes Memorial. Groundbreaking artist Refik Anadol presents his new multi-sensory data installation, "Glacier Dreams" – which premiered at Art Dubai in March 2023. Susana Rodriguez Gacio has Albinism and has been blind since birth, but that hasn't stopped her from breaking barriers and becoming a Paralympian and doctor. THE NEW YORKER: After three decades of hiding his feminine impulses, renowned Spanish dancer Manuel Liñán comes out to challenge convention by pursuing his love of performing flamenco—dressed as a woman—in a conservative society with rigid cultural traditions.

About Daniel T.
I am a documentary filmmaker with over 10 years of industry experience in all levels of the production process. My first directorial effort, the short documentary Reclaimed, had it world premiere at the Planet In Focus Film Festival in Toronto this past November. However, I've become a bit jaded by the lengthy time lines of the film festival process and would rather make short films for an online and quicker release schedule. Films that can have a greater and more immediate impact. I'm very interested in telling small stories that express universal themes. Stories of individuals and their struggles, intimate stories that speak to the big issues of our times.

About Duane L.
Hello my name is Duane and I am a freelance video producer. I believe that everyone has a unique story and capturing that journey has a great responsibility that I appreciate. It is being entrusted with very sensitive information and using it wisely to produce a compelling story. People's stories are powerful and it motivates me to share these experiences with others. I take the time to research in great detail the theme and the people involved. The stories I like to hunt for are short documentaries, portraits of people, cultural events and music concerts. My work has taken me to Australia, Canada, Japan, Dubai, Taiwan, Trinidad, Vietnam and China. Typically, every project and location is different and I enjoy the challenges of working in different environments and meeting people. For example, most of my published work are shot on location without prior knowledge of the scene. I then have to make spontaneous decisions to breakdown the scene and shoot accordingly.

About Henry M.
Over the last 18 years, I have worked in almost every field of film, TV and video production and television journalism, and have spent the last nine years managing my own news and media production company. I have an excellent knowledge of the industry, as well as a proven track record of running a company and managing staff, projects and budgets. I have lived and worked in many different countries, all over the world, producing anything from news and feature stories, to sport, to branded content and everything in between. My experience overseas has given me a truly unique perspective on global current affairs and has fostered a deep interest in exploring every story I come across from as many different perspectives as I can see. I also have experience of working in conflict zones, covering major riots in China in 2008 and 2009, and I was in Libya for one month, during the fall of Tripoli, working for APTN. I have also covered several natural disasters, including the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake and flooding in Southern China. As well as possessing exceptional writing skills, my work in TV and new media, has given me a unique skill set, enabling me to get a message out to the widest possible audience, in the most engaging way and often to a tight budget. Working as a video journalist/producer, I have acquired further skills as a story-teller. I am an excellent lighting cameraman and video editor, filming on a wide range of cameras and formats and able to script and edit to tight deadlines. I am also a skilled Steadicam operator, with my own rig, suitable for most requirements. Post-production-wise, I consider myself an expert in the use of Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects, as well as several other programs in the Creative Suite. I also regularly edit with Final Cut Pro, Avid and Davinci Resolve. I am equally at home in the pre-production office, in front or behind the camera, in the edit suite or in a live studio environment. As well as working extensively with all kinds of video production, I am also an accomplished photographer, and often combine photography with my video work.
