About Nicholas P.

Nicholas Price is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, receiving a B.A. in Audio and Acoustic Arts with a concentration in Audio for Visual Media. It was his time at Columbia that Nicholas soon realized his passion for the creative side of audio and the power it holds when combined with visual elements to evoke a myriad of emotions. Nicholas worked as an Intern for the Chicago Recording Company (CRC), assisting senior engineer, Michael Coyle and his assistant, Nealle Di Paolo. His most notable internship was for the Wachowskis, Kinowerks Studio, and Dane Davis, Danetracks, Inc on the Netflix series Sense8. Working and assisting Dane Davis (Post-Sound Supervisor), Stephanie Flack (ADR Supervisor), and Matt Kielkopf (First Assistant Editor). An unforgettable experience that provided a brief glimmer of working within the industry at the highest level. Nicholas has since gained significant experience working on commercial, documentary, short film and indie film projects in both production and post-production capacities, amassing a unique body of growing sound projects here in Chicago.

About AJ O.

A.J. Olstad’s passion for sound began with his love for films. He often wondered how the sounds were made and wanted to recreate them. His curiosity drove him to enroll at Columbia College Chicago, where he worked as a sound designer for various films -- including several that won in the Chicago International Film Festival and other independent festivals. He also worked on numerous projects as a location sound recorder. His talents took him to Sri Lanka, Miami, and Wyoming, where he was exposed to incredible learning experiences in sound. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Audio for Visual Arts in 2015, A.J. landed an internship at NoiseFloor Ltd., where he quickly became acclimated to the professional clientele and workflow. His dedication and passion for the business earned him a promotion as a Sound Editor, which put him on larger scale projects like web & TV spots for OtterBox, Honda, and Special Olympics, the short TV show The Jamz, and the video game Injustice 2. His location audio career has also grown as he’s worked on projects such as Restore Hair Restoration with Brian Urlacher, Family Travels with Colleen Kelly and the United States Marine drum and bugle corps. He’s even had the opportunity to record Wayne Brady for a SEG TV & Radio spot. Though his career is just beginning, A.J. has already traveled to New York, London, Maryland, and San Francisco as a location sound recorder and worked on multiple large scale projects in he River North studios. He takes each day as a learning opportunity and plans on seeing more success at NoiseFloor.

About Cory C.

Cory Coken began his career in the industry by building an extensive and impressive list of credits. Having worked on feature films like Batman Forever, Apollo 13, and Hoop Dreams (just to name a few), Coken developed a versatile background in sound. He eventually transitioned into advertising where he has created, recorded, and designed audio for a number of television and radio commercials. Working with clients like Disney, Coca-Cola and Army. In 2000, he built and created a new state of the art facility providing clients with the best studios for postproduction sound. Coken also teaches at his alma mater, Columbia College, where he instructs students on the theory and technical means behind audio for the visual medium. He is always actively involved in numerous freelance projects including live recording for Drum Corps International and tackling the sound design/mixing for independent films. Now with over 20 years experience in the industry, Cory brings his knowledge, talent, and passion for audio to his own studio, NoiseFloor LTD.

His obsession with sound, recording, and creating moving and affecting aural environments began at a very young age and has been a constant driving force throughout his life. He is passionate about manipulating sound and music, linking people to their memories, allowing listeners to paint the canopies of their inner experiences with new and exciting images. He works relentlessly to understand how and why sound and music are so integral to the human experience. He has composed scores for over 20 theatrical productions and since 2010 has created scores for feature films, short films, and advertisements, as well as produced music for hip-hop, pop and soul artists. He currently creates music out of his home studio in Chicago where he lives with his partner and their son.

For 10 years after that, he was senior copywriter for Armstrong | Shank Advertising, writing for such clients as Farm Credit, Rent-A-Center, Master Machine, Kennedy & Coe, Friends University, Westland Corporation, Heartspring School, Riverside Health System, Willie C's restaurant, Timberline restaurant, and many more. Wynn served as marketing communications director for Pioneer Balloon Company for two years, then returned to freelance video marketing, where his clients included Protection 1, Kansas Department of Labor, Kansas Department of Commerce, Home Vesting, PK Technology, Bethany College, and many more. In 2007, he started a video marketing business that has served such clients as American AgCredit, University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, American Bonanza Society, Choose Networks, US Logo, Redbox, American Diabetes Association, Wichita Art Museum, and many smaller Wichita companies and organizations.
