A short video highlighting three trips to disputed areas between China and her neighbors in South China West Philippine) and East China Seas: Scarborough Shoal, Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands and BRP Sierra Madre grounded at Spratly Islands. Produced, shot and edited by Tomas Etzler. Shot over 9 days in March, the story starts in the wild, wet-markets of Shanghai and ends in the wilderness of Yangshuo Hills. This 6 x half hour series is a travelogue adventure on the wilder side of China. In this series we make a giant loop around the heart of the country, from Shanghai to Tibet, through Mongolia and back to East coast on the Bohai sea. The aim is to explore the less-visited landscapes, the minority cultures, and to understand the way of life on the rugged terrains. Makloubeh - one of the most delicious food in the palestinan kitchen This film is a unique experience showing the collective memory of Gazan family developing and changing over time, getting married, living separated and living together in peace and war times: The film visualizes their memories of separation and exile while living through six weddings and one wish. Charly Anderson builds a ship at the seaport of Gaza City to break the siege of the Gaza Strip. One day somebody blows up his ship. Charly does not give up and starts to rebuild the ship: He gives back some hope to the fishermen of Gaza. Until the war in the summer of 2014 Charly almost finished rebuilding his ship. Then, towards the end of the war a missile hits the ship. In 2013, Turkey experienced a wave of public demonstrations unlike anything the country had seen in decades. What started as a small occupation to stop the redevelopment of a park drew an aggressive police response, sparking further protests. I co-directed and edited this piece following one year in the life of a young activist in Istanbul during these tumultuous times. I am an award winning news/documentary correspondent, producer, writer, cameraman and editor with experience of 16 years. I can work with and lead teams or operate alone as a one man band. I was born in Czechoslovakia. My first media job was a producer of musical programs for Czechoslovak Television. In 1991, I moved to the USA where I studied Newsgathering for Television at University of Colorado. Joined CNN in April 1999 as an International Desk Assignment Editor in Atlanta and later became a Field Producer. I was based in Berlin in 2005 and 2006. During my assignments in Afghanistan and Iraq, I learned how to shoot and edit. I occasionally report on CNN air and write for CNN.com. Besides wars, conflicts and natural disasters, I covered major political, economic or sport events in more then 60 countries. Since 2007, I was based in China covering Asia as a CNN producer and a correspondent for the Czech Television. I now live with my family in Hong Kong. I won an Emmy Award in 2008.
