I am an award winning news/documentary correspondent, producer, writer, cameraman and editor with experience of 16 years. I can work with and lead teams or operate alone as a one man band. I was born in Czechoslovakia. My first media job was a producer of musical programs for Czechoslovak Television. In 1991, I moved to the USA where I studied Newsgathering for Television at University of Colorado. Joined CNN in April 1999 as an International Desk Assignment Editor in Atlanta and later became a Field Producer. I was based in Berlin in 2005 and 2006. During my assignments in Afghanistan and Iraq, I learned how to shoot and edit. I occasionally report on CNN air and write for CNN.com. Besides wars, conflicts and natural disasters, I covered major political, economic or sport events in more then 60 countries. Since 2007, I was based in China covering Asia as a CNN producer and a correspondent for the Czech Television. I now live with my family in Hong Kong. I won an Emmy Award in 2008.
