This documentary follows the aboriginal process of making Mohua, an intoxicating tribal liquor made out of the Mohul flower, which is nutritious and delicious when taken as food as well. From daybreak till wee hour of night these unfortunate tribal folk of western part of India are spurred on this indigenous drink while living practically on a zero resource zone. While the publicity of a contraceptive brand focuses on shuttle sexual emotion of a young maid servant after the obvious find out of that very secret pack desired by the advertiser... Here this film steps in… it enrobes its territory in Kolkata, where every single morning thousands of these thiké jhi (maid servants) from the villages of Bengal, land to ache their bread sans butter... Playful teenage girls are growing up with the dream of successful extension of a suburban music band. Through the assent of growing up, they travel through the real world and get confined to usual challenges. It is a personal story where the author, in introspection, gauges on her immediate world of compulsions – muted freedom, repressive family pressure and early motherhood. This will condense and create depression which can later turn into deep depression and cyclones.

After studying Linguistics and French language from University of Calcutta and Alliance Française. Documenting the intricate use of indigenous technique in the making of wooden bullock cart wheel, my passion to film this about to extinct craft form, has given birth to my first documentary film Probing a circular motion. Since then a couple of documentary films were made on indigenous practices and communities such as mask makers of tribal Chow dance, Gutipua dancers of Orisa, Indigenous practices of midwifery in tribal communities of India. And later a film on junior artists of Bollywood titled Extras, the identity of politics had been made to showcase another Bollywood away from glitz and glamour. Inspired and connected to the communities of our world motivates me to create each audiovisual work in search of a better world. Indigenous craft and artisanal practices,medicinal and health practices, Folklore along with pressing social issues are of utter importance for me.
