Arin Yoon (she/her) is a Korean American documentary photographer and visual artist based in the Kansas City area. Her work focuses on the military community and the impacts of war, displacement, notions of family, women and issues of identity and representation. Arin is a National Geographic Explorer, a We, Women Photo artist, and an International Women's Media Foundation fellow. She is a member of Women Photograph and Diversify Photo and an alumna of the Eddie Adams Workshop and the Missouri Photo Workshop. Her work has been featured in National Geographic, The Washington Post, Reuters, NPR, ProPublica, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, among other publications. Arin has exhibited at venues such as the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in Seoul, Daegu Arts Center, Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, Anthology Film Archives and A.I.R. Gallery in New York. She has an MFA in Photography, Video and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts and a BA in Political Science and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago. She is HEFAT certified.

I have a degree in Graphic Design from Iowa State but I fell in love with the camera my second year of college. After picking it up for the first time 6 years ago, and bringing it with me almost everywhere since; I've been putting down the camera more to be a Stills Assistant to train and learn under the local Commercial Shooters My ADHD brain has allowed me to learn and explore many artistic avenues throughout my life such as designing custom typography, filming and photographing skateboarding, playing drums in a punk band, and DIYing the majority of the things I own. Having this heavy multimedia background allows me to offer unique solutions and abstract ideas, not only in conception but through theoretical and tangible execution.

I'm a Tulsa, OK-based freelance photojournalist whose clients include The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post and Google. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism with a minor in Sociology. I also have access to a car and am able to take assignments throughout The Oklahoma tri-state region. I grew up in St.Louis, Missouri. where I learned that photos move people in a way that no other medium can. I spent over five years interning across the country from the small town of Burlington, Iowa to Chicago, Illinois, to the biggest wire agency in the world in New York City. Over that time, I grew in life and visual experience and fell in love with seeing life through those many different lenses and perspectives. Lou Hebert learned photojournalism at DINFOS while serving in the US military. Lou travelled the world making images with subject partners in Nepal, the Middle East, and Japan. Lou 's photos appeared in magazines, newspapers, websites, and promotional materials.
