Alex Pritz is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary filmmaker based in New York City. Recently, Alex directed The Territory, which premiered at Sundance 2022 where it won both the Audience Award and a Special Jury Award for Documentary Craft. The Territory was named a NYT Critics Pick, and was acquired by National Geographic Documentary Films for a theatrical release in the United States, Canada, the UK, Brazil, Aotearoa/New Zealand, and the Netherlands. The film is now available globally on Disney+. Alex won an Emmy for his work as a cinematographer on the feature documentary The First Wave (dir. Matt Heineman). For more than a decade I have worked as a field producer and journalist covering stories in the U.S. and overseas, including the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Right now I am a freelance multimedia journalist/reporter based in New York City, but I am happy to travel for an assignment.
