About

A versatile multi-skilled journalist, Aman Azhar has more than 10 years of international broadcast journalism experience. Previously, he worked as a broadcast journalist and multimedia producer for the BBC World Service, VOA News and other international news organizations, reporting from London, Islamabad, the United Arab Emirates and New York. He holds a graduate degree in Anthropology of Media from University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and an MA in Political Science from the University of the Punjab, and is the recipient of the Chevening scholarship from the UK government and an academic scholarship for graduate studies from the Australian government. In 2005, he won a grant to attend a doctoral research seminar on global media policy research jointly organized by the University of Oxford’s St. Catherine’s College and University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication. He also received the Franklin Award and a citation from the U.S. State Department for outstanding reporting on Pakistan. His reporting for Inside Climate News is focused on environmental justice issues faced by politically disenfranchised communities of color and low income communities across the United States.
