Martin Friedrich, born 1975 in Munich, is a filmmaker and photographer. He studied Photography at the Academy For Photographic Design. After graduating with a short film, he moved to Berlin, working on movie sets and assisting photographers and filmmakers. Soon he started to shoot editorials, campaigns and commercials for fashion and lifestyle clients. His expertise in working with locations and storytelling in film and photography took him to places like Los Angeles, Casablanca, Kathmandu, Moscow, Mumbai and Mongolia. After relocating to his hometown Munich he is now shooting documentary and corporate films as a dp and sometimes also directing, as well as working as a colorist and stills photographer.

A nine-minute film documenting the relationship between artist Barbara Yelin and Holocaust survivor Emmie Arbel. Filmmaker Martin Friedrich captures Yelin's creative process as she and Arbel meet to co-create a graphic novel of Emmie's story of survival as a little girl in the concentration camps.
