Maxim Sarychau is a photographer and multimedia producer, lives and work in Minsk, Belarus. He works on long-term documentary and art photography projects. He experiments with new forms of visual storytelling at the edge of photography and video. From 2011 working on personal projects and on freelance basis for local and foreign media: Gare de l'Est (FR), P3 (PT), Russian Planet (RU), Timer (BY), Kalidor (BY). His multimedia and photography works were exhibited on many international festivals (Vilnius Photo Circle, Photovisa, Warsaw Open Days, Slideluk Istambul). In 2015 he was awarded with Grand-Prix on Belarus Press Photo contenst.
Long-term multimedia about activist of illegal in Belarus social movement "Food Not Bombs". Project includes photos made during 6 month of work and mobile footages of detentions made by activists. It was awarded by Belarus Press Photo Multimedia contest 2012 and toKino film festival 2013.
No one knows how the red male dog named Lloyd lost two legs: one front and one rear. A week later someone noticed Lloyd on the city outskirts of Minsk (Belarus) and informed animal protectors. I followed fate of Lloyd for half a year after the accident and witnessed things happened to him:long-term therapy, fund-collecting for food and medical treatment, moving from home to home.

This story is about how each citizen can influence on environment and his/her own city. Very few people on Belarus feel that their city is their home and they can protect it from destroying and influence on decisions that are taken by local authorities. Main characters is a great example of such relations between city and local citizens.

Serie of portraits of arrested activists of various social and political organizations in Belarus. All arrests were politically motivated. Project was awarded during Vilnius Photo Circle international photofestival and won Grand-Prix on Belarus Press Photo 2015 contest.
