About Mike

Over 15 years experience as a producer/director/camera/editor for PBS and other freelance, currently a certified Final Cut Pro X editor and Telly award winner. I have been responsible for producing a handful of broadcast programs for the past 12 years. Working freelance and making independent content i try to seek out unique stories in my area, covering things more in depth that the local papers either skimp over or ignore all together. I try to let the characters in my videos tell the story, rather than use a voice over. Can also double as a photojournalist on any assignment.

Mike was an exceptional Storyhunter. We were prepared for severe weather in Fort Worth and the state was not impacted. It did not stop Mike from finding several stories like the shelter stray animals end up in after a storm and also connecting with local emergency management and getting a full video tour of operations before the storm. He was smart, quick and had excellent news judgment. Would absolutely rehire in a moment for anything in Texas.

Mike was tasked to put together a package on the anniversary of the Van Zandt County, TX tornado. He did a nice job finding a good character with little to no overnight on our end. This content was well shot and edited. Mike's communication was good, as he kept in touch with The Weather Channel through the whole process. I look forward to working with him in the future.
