Both documentary and narrative films - shorts and features. Began as a writer - story is everything. As a former actor, I work well with actors (and dogs and children). Idaho based, Los Angeles native. Authenticity is my bag.
On this project, I co-wrote, co-directed, co-produced. I also did the fundraising and dissemination. Exodus 1947 was narrated by Morley Safer and broadcast nationally on PBS and on educational television and film festivals worldwide. We made this on spec and sold it to PBS and international TV.
Moshit Mizrachi-Gabbitas is the James Beard semi-finalist baker / owner of Janjou Patisserie. This is part of a series of 3 micro-documentaries made from a grant from the City of Boise, Arts & History Department. The idea was to profile world class creatives who just happen to live in Boise. I decided who would be my subjects, found my crew and drove all aspects of production and post.
I was hired to create a video introduction for Boise Code School. I interviewed several of the engineers, selected 3 and conducted sit down interviews and supervised b roll and editing. The goal was to convey that coding could be a 2nd career for non-technical people, that Boise was a town with great opportunity for coders and a great place to live for quality of life.
This project was made possible by a partnership with the Idaho Commission on the Arts with support from the National Endowment for Arts and broadcast on Radio Boise. I conducted long-form oral interviews with Chabad in Boise for the Folk & Traditional Arts Community Scholar Program. My podcast was part of a series that included folklife in Boise, Idaho.
I received a grant to create micro-documentaries about 3 world class creatives who just happened to live in Boise. I found John Bolin only a mile away from my home. Normally a reluctant interview, we built a rapport where we trusted each other and both felt great about the video. My crew was just one person.

My role was to find the creatives and to lead all creative and operational aspects of the project. My crew was just one other person.
