Great Big Story - Sculpting an Orchestra From Ice
Tim Linhart was sculpting ice in Colorado when he decided to try something new: creating a giant, frozen violin. When a friend jokingly asked how Tim thought his violin would sound, it sparked an idea. Why not make an entire, functional orchestra out of ice? That was 21 years ago. These days, Tim is based in Sweden and gathers his icy ensembles to play in cosmic igloos. Grab a seat, and best don’t forget your coat.

Swiss Cowbells
There are musical cowbells, and then there are the ones Swiss artisan Stéphane Brügger makes by hand for actual cows to wear. Brügger’s ornately beautiful creations are customized with images of the Swiss cross, a cottage, a cow and two edelweiss. The most expensive go for more than $4,000. We joined the artist in his workshop in Fribourg, Switzerland, to learn the art and craft of cowbell making.
