About David

I'm a video journalist / filmmaker based in Calgary, Canada. Stories about politics, environmental issues, and human rights drive my work. I worked staff for the BBC and Al Jazeera before starting freelancing in 2009. Since then I've worked for Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera America, Vice, CNN, Fusion, the BBC, Great Big Story, CCTV, The Smithsonian Institute, and various NGOs and independent production companies. I shoot, produce, edit, write and report, and have worked across the Americas and Caribbean, as well as Europe and the Middle East. I film with a Sony FS5 and DJI Mavic Air drone.
