Anais Taracena is an audiovisual director graduated in Master of Political Science and Sociology. For the past 10 years she has been working on audiovisual projects focused on social issues (memory, youth, gender and human rights…). She currently lives in Guatemala and has worked as freelance photographer and audiovisual director for Amnesty International Mexico, Action Aid France, We Effect and Plaza Pública (investigative journalism) among others organizations. She directed several short films that have been projected in international festivals and universities. "The silence of the Mole” Anais’s feature film has been screened in more than 80 Film Festivals and has won 23 international awards such as the Best Documentary Prize at Malaga Film Festival, the Special Jury Award at the Jeonju International Film Festival, South Korea and the Tim Hetherington Award in Sheffield Doc Fest. Her short films have been screened at international film festivals and universities in different countries. In Guatemala she works with Human rights organizations as a filmmaker.
