Robin Bledsoe completed 210 hikes on 200 Virginia trails to honor heroes from Virginia that gave the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq or Afghanistan post September 11th, 2001. This video documents the beginnings of the story of her journey and features stories from the families of just a few of the many brave heroes who gave their lives for our country.
The pentagon soccer club organizes up to two pick-up soccer matches every lunch hour of every workday. Dedication is at the core of this soccer club, and the words “family” and “team” become interchangeable. The only notable break the club has taken from their noon games occurred after the September 11th attacks in 2001, when they stopped their games for a bit out of respect for the tragedy.
John Doyle's Christmas light displays in Arlington, Virginia have been an attraction for the past 18 years. He creates these intricate displays based off of sparks of ideas in his mind. He starts with a sketch and then, with a masterful hand, lights up the entire Fairlington community. These displays have gained attention in local and national newspapers, as well as Time magazine.
