About Juliana
Juliana Schatz is a Colombian-American documentary film producer and director. She started her career at the award-winning investigative series Frontline, where she contributed to 11 public affairs documentaries -- including two Emmy Award winners and one Peabody Award winner. Her work with PBS FRONTLINE, The GroundTruth Project, Al Jazeera and Sender Films has taken her from the peaks of Giza to the sky-high Rocky Mountains. She is presently in development on a documentary about children's mental health and access to care. Juliana's work has been supported by The Investigative Fund, where she is an Ida B. Wells fellow and by the ITVS Diversity Development Fund. In 2015, she completed two full-length, Spanish language documentaries for Canal Capital, Bogota's public television network, about Colombians exiled during the country's decades long conflict. Juliana's passion lies in creating non-fiction films and television, specializing in current affairs and investigative documentary in the United States and Latin America. Her films offer context and a human narrative to complex and often-controversial subjects, with fairness and the highest degree of ethical integrity.
