About
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Derek graduated from Northwest Nazarene University's film program in Nampa, Idaho with a degree in Mass Communication. Derek studied Film & Television Production at USC Graduate School of Cinematic Arts, with and emphasis in producing, sound design, and directing. Derek has work on many award winning projects as a sound designer and producer in everything from traditional narrative film, documentaries, live TV, and multi-cam. In addition to his work and studies, Derek is a member of Cinema Audio Society, MPSE, and LA Post Production Group. Derek is currently a production supervisor and in-house sound designer for Lunacy Productions in Santa Monica, CA.

Rake Up Nampa
Sherman Elementary in Nampa, Idaho participated in the annual Rake Up Nampa event. Each fall, volunteers meet up to help rake the recently fallen leave in the elderly and disabled's yards. These young students learned the value of teamwork, community service, and having fun!
