About
Tarek Bouraque is a director/producer, filmmaker, journalist and educator whose projects focus on social justice, migration, and First Nation rights and identities. His films have screened at the DOC Film Institute in San Francisco, Rory Peck Trust Awards in London, Anthology Film Archives in New York, Academy of Film/HKBU in Hong Kong, and other venues. As a journalist, Bouraque directs and produces for international media outlets including Al Jazeera English, AJ+, AFP, and National Geographic. Since 2016, he has taught emerging media, film, and documentary production at The Juilliard School, Hunter College, York College, Downtown Community Television Center, New York Film Academy, and Educational Video Center. He is the co-founder of Global Fronteras Films, a production company and film laboratory. Bouraque holds an MFA in integrated media arts from Hunter College and a BA in journalism and television from ESJ Paris/Casablanca.
