I'm a Brooklyn-based documentary filmmaker, director, and producer. Most recently, I was producing and shooting for the Emmy award-winning series Axios on HBO. My work has also appeared on VICE, PBS, Al-Jazeera, and Discovery Channel. Throughout my career, my work has explored the criminal justice system, gender, immigration, and issues of racial inequality. I've also worked on several branded-documentary and commercial campaigns for clients such as the U.S. Navy, Special Olympics, Estee Lauder, and Ogilvy.

The Rise of the Disabled Rights Movement
A new wave of activism by disabled Americans has quickly gained momentum under the Trump administration in response to federal policies they feel are threatening their community on issues ranging from healthcare, to education, to fundamental civil rights. VICE’s Ryan O’Connell and I joined hundreds of activists from ADAPT, the largest organizer for disability rights in the U.S., as they staged several days of protest and civil disobedience in Washington D.C.

How a Father Deals with Loss After the Parkland Shooting
In February, Manuel Oliver’s son Joaquin was killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead. He’s since dedicated himself to fighting for gun reform, starting a nonprofit with his wife, Patricia, that aims to empower young activists to campaign against gun violence. I spoke with Oliver to learn how activism has helped him cope with the loss of his son, and followed along as he and his wife took to the stage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School ’s graduation to accept Joaquin’s diploma.

The Watchdogs Surveilling Border Patrol and ICE
Since 2003, almost 100 people have been killed by border patrol agents in various situations. ICE’s secrecy and lack of transparency has lead the citizens of Brownsville, Texas to take matters into their own hands by using MigraCam, an app that can livestream suspicious moments to close family members and friends, ensuring a public record of what happens on the ground. Communities like Brownsville have experienced a significant increase in traffic stops for minor — or even falsified — infractions, often leading to deportation. I travelled to the US-Mexico border to meet up with the users of MigraCam, following activists as they act as community watchdogs, ensuring public safety.
