About David

David Allen is a cinematographer and DP based in Tokyo, Japan. Since he was 14 years old, David had a love for production and creating films. He grew up shooting skateboarding and after high school attended Ryerson University's School of Media, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 2012. Upon graduation, David began working freelance in film. David loves to travel and in 2014 he decided to move to Tokyo for a new experience and to further his career. In the 5 years since he moved, David has refined his style and began working as a DP on documentaries, commercials, music videos, and short films. Recent productions include shoots for Google, iichiko, Netflix, and National Geographic, as well as several independent productions. David is currently available for freelance work in Japan and worldwide.
