Joan is a media production and communication specialist with experience in Content Creation as a Producer and Production Manager. Over the years she has been involved in the development of content based on different clients’ project briefs. She has also worked in the development and production of documentaries such as Defying Ashes as a Producer, Zumari as a Producer and Sound Designer, and Leila as a Sound Technician and Gaffer. Short films such as The Read as a Co-producer. It was a top ten selection for the Machakos Film Festival 2019 (Machawood) and Kaleidoscope as a Production Manager. It was an official selection for the Zanzibar International Film Festival 2017 shortlisted under the Short Film category. It was also nominated for the 2017 Kalasha Film & TV Awards, the Best Short Film category. She is a freelance video journalist producing short-form documentary content. Joan believes in the use of media to tell Africa's transformative stories by showing how we are changing our communities’ narratives and fostering positive social impact. She aims to create media programs that are innovative, interactive, and indulge their intended audiences.
