About Musimwe

Hi! My name is Tony and I'm a documentary filmmaker, photographer, and multimedia content specialist. Over the last nine years, I've created effective video content within the nonprofit sector, education sector, the online public figure brand space, B2B organizations, and the learning and the development industry. With every piece of content I create, my goal is to find a story and tell it in an engaging way, with every image a Spark and in every frame a good thought. I enjoy combining creative thinking with a strong technical understanding of the video production process to create engaging and exciting multimedia content that makes an impact on audiences and fosters connection while at the same time providing ROI to my client. I'm interested in utilizing online storytelling to further the progress of social causes, improving our world one film/photo at a time. I approach my work with relentless dedication and passion to create, this has led me to working with World leading Brands and Prominent organisations. *Selected Clients* The Getty Foundation, Swiss Contact, Dan Church Aid, UN Women, TPO Uganda, SNV Uganda, GOETHE, URC, International Rescue Committee, ACTADE, British Council, US Embassy, International Rescue and Human Rights Initiative, Kuokoa, University of East Anglia, UNEP, Nile Basin Initiative, ProjectTen, Embrace Kulture, Raising Voices, Sam Fox School, Makerere University, University of Johannesburg, Afripads, Roofings Uganda Limited, Okeba Uganda Limited, Allied Muslim Youth, Muslimah Ladies.

    • Immersive/Spatial Video Capture

A team of students from the University of Johannesburg travelled to Kampala, Uganda to explore the urban wetlands where the delicate balance between nature and human settlements is most poignant. Unit 15(x) derived its motivation from the cultural belief that the wetlands of Kampala where once seen as a scared place of replenishment and renewal by the Baganda, before being devalued as ‘waste lands’ by the British colonial rulers. Wetlands serve a natural purpose of controlling floods, biodiversity conservation and removal of pollutants by filtering runoff water as it heads towards the Lake Victoria. However wetlands are under threat due to urban expansion and unregulated activates as they are currently viewed as the last place to build. The current Ugandan government realizes the importance of conserving and protecting wetlands with a vision that favours exploring sustainable benefits of wetlands for the people of Uganda. This Short Documentary highlights there stay, sessions and brief outline of students initial thoughts and responses to the sites they worked on. This video showcases what was documented in a period of 6days and cut together to best tell a story of how Students from two universities, merged, learnt and explored Kampala.

  • Global Urbanism Studio

    • Immersive/Spatial Video Capture

As part of the summer 2019 Global Urbanism Studio in the Sam Fox School's Master of Urban Design program, Washington University students traveled to Kampala, Uganda, where they participated in a workshop in collaboration with students from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi. The workshop explored Nakasero Market in downtown Kampala, and documented the innovative ways in which the use and quality of this space changes over time. Lead faculty included Doreen Adengo and Jonathan Stitelman.

  • Branded Content, Public Figure Brand Space And Commissions Recap Reel

    • Immersive/Spatial Video Capture

To craft innovative and engaging content for the digital landscape with a Docu-style approach, it goes beyond filming and more into understanding the brand, how it is perceived be it an individual or beverage and then finding a language to best capture, present and highlight a product and brand. In this recap video, I showcase a few of my favourite picks from the many projects I had running in 2022 for a number of Reputable Brands and individuals.
