About

Sarah is a commentator and digital media troublemaker for RawStory.com and occasionally author pieces about issues pertaining to young people, progressive policy and political campaigns. She previously worked as a digital editor for Alternet.org, writer at Salon.com, digital editor at BNR and co-edited Future Majority. She wrote for Wiretap Magazine youth site to parent publications The Nation and Mother Jones. Under the direction of Rock the Vote’s Rock the Trail, Sarah got the amazing opportunity to cover the 2008 Presidential election from the Iowa Caucuses, South Carolina Primary, Super Tuesday, the Democratic Convention in Denver, the Republican Convention in St. Paul, and the first Presidential Debate at Ole Miss – just to name a few. Up until 2008 Sarah worked as a fundraising professional on Congressional and statewide campaigns, for consulting firms offering general consulting and direct mail, and as Development Director for Skyline Public Works. Since 2008, she has enjoyed returning to her creative roots using digital and social media while writing and commenting on the politics of the day. Sarah worked for nearly two years as the Media Director on the Oklahoma Governor’s race in 2010, as Digital Director at the labor union UNITE HERE, as well as EMILY’s List and Daily Kos. While she works full-time in Washington, D.C., she often consults for candidates and campaigns back home and in red states.
