About

I am a Brazilian journalist in New York. Most recently I reported about solutions to curb deforestation in the Amazon uniting conservation and science for Foreign Policy's podcast Heat of the Moment. Last year, I worked as a freelance field producer for an investigative video project, "The Amazon is Still Burning. Blame Beef," for The New York Times, which received the "award of excellence" at POYi awards. I graduated from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in 2018 with a concentration in international reporting and a background in radio. In New York, I interned at WNYC, NPR's Latino USA and contributed to ProPublica, traveling to the Amazon as a reporter and translator. Previously, I contributed to The New York Times, NPR, The Washington Post and other outlets in Brazil. I also have bylines in the most important Brazilian newspapers such as Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo and worked as a reporter in Tokyo, Japan. I’m fluent in Portuguese, English and spoken Spanish. I can speak conversational Japanese and I can make great tea.
