His journalism career began in Mexico, for Milenio Diario de Monterrey, El Norte and Reforma newspaper, where he was political and police reporter, as well as special assignments to different coverage in Mexico and abroad. He was a reporter, producer, executive producer and news director at Televisa Monterrey. In the United States there has been reporter, producer and news executive producer at Telemundo and Univision networks. He has been a freelance correspondent for Reuters Television and The Associated Press. He specializes covering social conflicts, migration and drug trafficking stories. He was a war correspondent in El Salvador, Peru, Guatemala and Honduras. He won an Emmy for best politic series on 2012 with the story about drug trafficking, "Ruling in Hell" and nominated for an Emmy award for best crime series. He was news director for Telemundo 40 McAllen, Texas, USA. Currently is a freelance producer/correspondent for Univision News in the Mexico-Texas border.
