About

I have worked for 5 years as a news assistant/researcher/fixer for clients such as McClatchy, Swiss TV, AFP, CNBC, and more recently as a producer for the BBC (2.5 years). I have fluent English ability (IELTS 7.5), standard Mandarin, and am a very confident communicator with people from all walks of life, from farmers to financiers. I have covered breaking news stories, as well as various 'sensitive' news items - riots in Xinjiang, arrests of dissidents - which demonstrates my ability to work both to deadline, and also under circumstances of considerable pressure.  I recently won the BBC’s documentary fund grant in 2014 and self-directed a 30 minutes piece on members of the Chinese elite hiring Tibetan monk personal gurus, titled "When Wealth is Not Enough", which was shortlisted for the Asian Television Award(2015).

"Daisy is organized, thorough and easy to work with. The footage is very well shot and scripting and production is strong. Story idea also originated from her." - Lisa Thomas, AJ+ Asia editor.
