I'll describe myself as an intermediate storyteller. Not a master of the craft, but I'm always looking for the next best way to share a story and hone my skills. I've been on the television side of news for the past 7 years and though I still work in a news environment, I have moved to the online side of it with a local paper in beautiful Colorado Springs. First documentary I did solo. Came up with the idea, did the groundwork and executed the plan. I was told by many they loved that perspective I grabbed and it hit home when I still get told by those who watch it, they resonate with it.
This was a sporting event that always drew in a crowd. Went to cover it and see what I could create with this unique event and was happy with the result.
Never understood what was attractive about Roller Derby. So I went and talk to a team and found out why the love for the sport.
Shot this story for local newspaper in town. A story that truly was just one visual delight.
Those who make the ultimate sacrifice are never forgotten, only honored. Went to an officer memorial service in Colorado Springs to listen to what some wanted to share.
