I spent so much of my adolescence dreaming about moving away from my hometown. I wanted, so desperately, to be part of the bustle of New York City that I regarded everything about my little corner of Northeast Florida as subpar. Needless to say, I moved to the Big Apple as soon as I could. I found myself, however, missing my little/big city by the sea. Less than a year after I left, I found myself back in Jacksonville, determined to embrace the very place I dreamt of escaping from so long ago. I found a job at my local PBS station which forced me to discover Jacksonville's hidden treasures. As an associate producer of "Hometown" I had to produce, direct, and edit short pieces about local people, places, and events which were special to Jacksonville. Slowly but surely, I started falling in love with my hometown.
