Steven Wilson is a Los Angeles based filmmaker who grew up in the California Central Coast. He started making short films In high school, and was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts for his work in film/animation. At UCLA he wrote and directed sketch comedy with comedy group The Wait List, with whom he made an award-winning student short film that went on to be shown in Sundance's Shorts Corner. After college he formed Beautimus Productions where he produced and directed commercials. His commercial clients include Lego, Bayer, GMC, Bud Light, HP, MapQuest, Axe, Norelco, Ricola, and ESPN. He has also directed narrative content for MTV and PlayStation.
A 30-second spot for web that my production company produced. I co-wrote, co-directed, DP'd, and edited the spot. HP was very happy with the product, which lead to repeat projects with them.
I wrote, directed, produced, and edited this 1-minute web commercial for GMC. We were able to achieve a lot in 1 shoot day even with a modest budget.
A fun comedy commercial my production company and I made working with ResMed (brand) and Weber Shandwick (ad agency). They had the idea, and we made it come to life. I had the fun of even composing a heavy dub-step infused score for the spot.
LEGO reached out directly to us to make 6 fun live-action commercials for their kid's show "Nexo Knights." My producing partner and I wrote 3 pieces each, and took on directing and VFX for each spot. This was one of the most fun projects I've worked on to date!
A 1-minute commercial I wrote, directed, and edited for BetterHelp. I was very pleased with the talented cast, and the quality of shots we were able to achieve in one fairly aggressive shoot day, working closely with my DP Benji Dell (https://benjidell.com/).
