From more than two months the city of Como, Italy, has become the new bottleneck of the refugees' route to the north of Europe. More than 500 people from Sudan, Ethiopia and Eritrea are camping inside the railway station and in the park in front of the station, hoping to pass the border to reunite with a relative or a friend. They have nothing and they barely speak english or french.

The new slaves, how we put a spycam on a migrant who grabs tomatoes in Foggia (Italy)
The new slaves is a reportage about migrants who grabs tomatoes in the fields of southern Italy. Threatened by "caporals" and filed owners, migrants are payed 4-4,5 euro for every ton of tomatoes they grab. We filmed this reality putting a spycam on a migrant who works in Foggia (Puglia), a character driven reportage about a new form of slavery in our time.
