About

Erik Petersen was a newspaper photographer for over a decade before leaving to pursue a freelance business. His work now includes editorial, commercial and outdoor photography and filmmaking. He also teaches visual journalism as an adjunct professor at the University of Montana. He directed and produced “The Hard Way”, a documentary about an 89-year-old ultra runner. The film was featured at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, Telluride Mountainfilm, Five Point Film Festival and dozens of others around the world. His latest film, “The Ride” was selected as a finalist for the 2018 Banff Mountain Film Festival.
