About Kavic

I was a staff cameraman and producer at Reuters for 26 years, from 1991 to 2017. I started working during the Yugoslav wars and covered all the war zones in the region. My first foreign assignment after that was the aftermath of the genocide in Rwanda, and then I covered most of the globally important events in the EMEA region, including the war in Afghanistan in 2001, Iraq invasion in 2003, the war in Macedonia in 2000, Libya in 2011, the Cyprus financial crisis in 2013, etc. Meanwhile, I also covered all the stories covered by the local Zagreb bureau, which included news and features from Croatia and neighbouring countries, as well as major international events in Austria, including extensive coverage of Iran nuclear talks at the International Atomic Energy Agency, and meetings of OPEC in Vienna. I also covered the 2015 migrant crisis and reported daily from locations in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Serbia, Hungary, Macedonia and Greece.
