Julianne knows how to find a talented team to work with. She connected us with a good shooter in India for this piece and got all footage to us in a timely manner. She also connected us with a talented and fast editor. My only major suggestion is for her to flag the use of third-party footage she wants to use early on so we can discuss whether it’s feasible to use before beginning the edit. -Jun

If you’ve performed Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” routine at home in front of the mirror (and you know you have), it’s time you met the man behind these iconic moves. His name is JaQuel Knight, and he is a choreographer and image architect who works with superstars: Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Jennifer Lopez… the list goes on. Knight’s visual stylings can turn a hit song into a pop culture phenomenon. One constant in Knight’s choreography? He makes a portion of each routine accessible, so we can all get up and dance.

Wheelchair Costumes Turn Kids Into Superheroes
One Halloween, Ryan Weimer’s then-3-year-old son wanted to dress up as a pirate. But his son, who has spinal muscular atrophy, is restricted to a wheelchair. So Ryan fashioned a homemade costume that incorporated the wheelchair as a pirate ship, and his son absolutely loved it. From that idea was born Magic Wheelchair—a global non-profit organization that creates custom wheelchair costumes for kids. In addition to bringing joy to the costumed kids and their families, Weimer says his designs can act as a “cure for the day” by liberating the kids from the stigma so often attached to wheelchairs.
