Tiny houses for the homeless is a movement that has been growing around the country. The houses provide shelter, safety and help homeless residents get back on their feet. At Sawhorse Revolution in Seattle, WA, high school students build tiny houses using all salvaged materials and these homes are delivered to homeless encampments. The program teaches students to build and to help their community.

About Jessica
I’m the founder and filmmaker at Alita Films, a documentary production company. As a nonfiction visual storyteller, I create videos for a wide variety of brands, nonprofits, and news organizations. I’m always looking to tell true stories in new ways, from new and previously untold perspectives. I direct, produce, shoot and edit. My work for GE exploring 3D printing won the Best New Artist award at the Tongies. My first feature documentary Waiting for John, about the last surviving Cargo Cult, aired in PBS's award-winning Pacific Heartbeat series and screened in film festivals worldwide. With experience living and working internationally, I am comfortable with complex logistics, sensitive topics, and difficult situations. I’m inspired by the universalities in the human experience, counterintuitive notions, and the beauty found in the everyday.

Mississippi has the highest infant morality rate in the US. The main causes are linked to malnutrition and lack of access to healthcare information. Organizations like Cary Christian Center hope to improve the lives and odds of families by building relationships and providing mothers with guidance on health and nutrition. Because of this, Cary, MS has the lowest infant mortality rate in the state.

The challenge of a Panorama video is to capture the global nature and overview of ICRC's work, while also telling intimate and personal stories. Interviews with the people ICRC helps are at the heart of this piece, while elements like a highlighted map, archival footage, and narration can show the breadth of work.
