Our Toronto is a wide-ranging one hour program focusing on the people and events making an impact on Canada's largest city. Along with high-profile guests discussing the week's hot topics, the program also regularly features what's happening in music, movies and books, as well as the latest in health and consumer news. In addition to conceptualising the program from its inception, I was also responsible for weekly development of program ideas, style, pace, and the format for CBC's Our Toronto. Key tasks involved a demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a stressful and demanding work environment, produce high quality news and current affairs within defined resource levels and create engaging programming using a wide variety of production techniques. Additionally, collaborating with producers and production units, including radio and online news in defining and producing the look, content and focus of the program was required Related Tasks/Skills -Oversee all staff and freelancers to effectively and efficiently cover the stories and issues -Demonstrated talent as a programmer with an ear for pacing, tone, presentation and production -Superior writing, editorial and production skills with an interest in cross-platform media production -Demonstrated skills in the area of conflict resolution, mentoring, talent recognition and development -An innovator and risk taker -Ability to generate ideas for original story segments to research and produce them
