I'm, a self-shooting documentary film maker with over 15 years of experience. I graduated with a First from film school in London in 2000, and spent 10 years working in the British television industry. During this time I developed an original series for MTV, an original series fro Channel 5 as well as several one-off documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4. I progressed to directing several large-scale productions including a prime-time BBC One series, "Wallace and Gromit's World of Adventure". I moved to São Paulo, Brazil in 2011 where I began working as senior producer at Vice Brasil's video content department. This involved producing short-form online content for their website as well as directing several branded content campaigns for global names such as Coca-Cola, Ray Ban and Absolut. I left Vice Brasil in 2013 and set up Zumbi Filmes, an independent production company catering for national and international clients such as Globo TV, Universal Pictures, HBO and Vice.
I shot and directed this short piece on the São Paulo teacher Deborah Garofalo, who was nominated for the Global Teacher Prize for her ground-breaking school project to teach students at ther school robotics with trash that they collect from the streets of their inner-city neighbourhood.
