About Andrew

Andrew Bateman is a documentary filmmaker who is interested in film's potential as a tool for social change. Andrew has been awarded a 2015 California Humanities Research and Development Grant, 2013 BAVC Media Maker Fellowship, and the SOMArts 2013 N3 Media Fellowship. Currently he is producing a feature length documentary about remittance homes in Latin America, and in pre-production for a documentary about migrant labor housing in California. Andrew is a freelance video journalist for Denver Westword and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and a Master of Arts degree in American Studies from the University of New Mexico.
