About Melissa

I am an educator, videographer and documentary filmmaker. I aim to create films that inspire, educate, build empathy and promote social equity. I have spent two decades in public health, violence prevention, survivor advocacy, research and community mobilization. I pivoted to documentary and videography in 2019 and started a video production business where I work with nonprofits, community agencies and small businesses. I collaborate with clients to tell the stories of how they are making a difference in their communities.

I produced this as part of the George Washington University Graduate Documentary Program.
