Award-winning creator of scripted narratives and documentaries, James D. Solomon has worked with iconic storytellers such as Robert Redford, Sidney Lumet, Barry Levinson, and David E. Kelley. Among his feature work, Solomon’s directorial debut, THE WITNESS, was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary. His original screenplay, THE CONSPIRATOR, directed by Robert Redford, starred James McAvoy, Robin Wright, Kevin Kline, and Tom Wilkinson, and received the Humanitas Prize. In TV, Solomon was an Executive Producer / Co-lead Writer of ESPN’s critically acclaimed limited series, THE BRONX IS BURNING, starring John Turturro and Oliver Platt. In addition, he has been a staff writer on multiple series. Solomon is a graduate of Harvard University, and was also a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute.
