About Jalaluddin

I am a multimedia journalist holding a Master's degree in Mass Communications and Political Sciences from Pakistan and a certificate in digital media from the United States. I cover the conflict in Kashmir, especially the situation at the Line of Control, Regional politics, human rights, gender, and climate change in Pakistan administered Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. My work appeared in The New York Times, Dawn, The News International, Daily Rising Kashmir, Independent Urdu, Daily Times and Friday Times among others. I have been working as an independent journalist for around ten years and have compiled and published a number of in-depth stories for Urdu and English publications. I usually choose to work on the under-reported topic which has social, cultural, and political importance. As a researcher, I have contributed to a number of research studies as well as published various independent publications about the Kashmir conflict and its impacts on human life in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Over the period of five years, I have produced a number of short films and digital stories on social and political issues. Besides mature productions for social media, my portfolio includes short documentaries produced on different issues of social importance. "Resilience at Its Best'' and "Losing Lives at the LoC" are two of my published storybooks featuring short stories of people affected by the Indo-Pak conflict at the Line of Control.
