About Vanessa

Vanessa Jimenez is a Dallas, TX native and an art school graduate. She is an award-winning Multimedia Specialist and Filmmaker with over fifteen years of production experience. She specializes in Post Production (Editing and 2D Motion Graphics) and also has credits as a Director, Producer, Videographer, Photographer and as a Colorist. She began her career in network Spanish language Television back in 2004 and spent eight years as a Marketing Producer/Editor where she was nominated and won multiple Emmy® awards. In 2012, she went to Corporate Productions and produced industrials spots for an in-house studio. With a background in Television and Corporate, she transitioned into making films in 2016. Her documentary short, “the Runner”, tells the story of a regular guy who — turned influencer, utilized social media to make dreadful runs fun again for him and the Dallas running community. The film won a 2017 Bronze Telly Award. Today, she is currently working on Directing a narrative short film while also working in a full-time position as a Videographer/Editor where she produces videos for social media and for Corporate messaging (both for internal and external use). In 2015, Vanessa joined the Women In Film Dallas non-profit organization as a member and volunteer and by 2016, she sat on the Board of Directors and led the PSA Production Program. That year, as PSA Chair, one of her proudest moments was leading an all-female production crew to produce a PSA for the Ft. Worth, TX non-profit organization, Alliance For Children. The PSA went on to win a 2017 Bronze Telly Award. She has spoken about her full-time and freelance work at workshops and Q & A panels, including the WIFD Production Bootcamps (2017 and 2018), where she hosted the “Post Production Workshop: Editing in Premiere Pro” and also taught a “Résumés and Reels” course to teach others how to make a great impression both on paper and with their work visually. Her professional memberships have included: Women In Film Dallas (WIFD), the Dallas Producers Association (DPA), the National Association of Latin Producers (NALIP), the Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TMPA), the Dallas Film Society (DFS), the Dallas Screenwriters Association (DSA), the DFW Hispanic Communicators, the ProMaxBDA International Association For Entertainment Marketing Professionals, the Lone Star Emmy® Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Texas Association of Motion Media Professionals (TAMMP) and the Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB). In her spare time she enjoys binging TV shows, listening to live music, traveling and being outdoors with her husband and their three dogs.
