Rachel is a Brazilian documentary filmmaker, content producer and translator with vast experience in the American media market. She is the owner of MOXYDOX, a small production company based in São Paulo/Brazil and in the metropolitan region of Stuttgart/Germany, and works primarily as a Director, Producer and Editor.
In 2019, she was an AD, researcher, script collaborator and grant writer on the doc feature "My Darling Supermarket", premiered at IDFA (Netherlands) and at MOMA's Doc Fortnight (USA). Prior to that, she received a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelors degree in Film from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She is a former associate producer at Storyhunter Headquarters in Brooklyn, and her work has been published by Al Jazeera, Fusion, Bloomberg and Nationswell. While in New York City she also worked in network television productions for the Discovery Channel, PBS, Lifetime, MTV and the Animal Planet – among a few independent features screened at Slamdance and Tribecca.
In São Paulo she helped develop documentaries on contemporary art and education, branded content and institutional videos for Brazilian television networks, non-profit organizations and global companies, such as Global Communities, The Nature Conservancy, Videobrasil, Instituto Natura, Miracle Feet and Iron Mountain, among others.
