About Oscar

I am a bilingual journalist, photographer, and translator interested in elevating the Latinx community's talent and highlighting its resilience through my work. I hold an M.A. in Literary Creation from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. I am a recent alum of the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY where I specialized in covering Latinx communities. I interned at Univision where I wrote about the pandemic’s impact on Latinx workers, and on trans women's mental health. My recent translation work appeared in The Marshall Project. In 2020, I was awarded the Donald & Mary Ellen Passantino International Students Scholarship.
